History

About Lawson - History

1949 It was a big year in the history of U.S. business and industry. An American-made gold missile blew up 250 miles above White Sands, New Mexico, the highest altitude ever achieved. A record number of cars -- 6,000,000,000 -- rolled off the assembly lines. The Lucky Lady II, completed the first nonstop flight around the world, refueling in the air four times.

Meanwhile, in St. Louis, another venture was being launched and, over the years, it has grown to become the Lawson Screen Products so many screenprinters have come to know and trust. Although we have not broken any altitude records or circumnavigated the globe, in our own way, the people of Lawson have achieved significant milestones. Perhaps the most important is that after decades manufacturing screenprinting equipment and delivering screenprinting materials and supplies, we are still here to serve out longtime customers, and we are stronger than ever. We are even better able to meet your needs, whether you have been a Lawson customer for years or are looking for a partner who will still be around next year and the year after. Our history is on your side.

In a industry as volatile as screenprinting, survival and success depend on service. Our industry is comprised of a wide range of screen-printing companies, from those employing only a few family members to those with hundreds of workers operating textile or graphics presses around the clock. Our job is to satisfy the needs of every screen printer we serve, no matter how large or small. We strive to provide all our customers with dependable, affordable equipment that fits with their printing requirements, along with materials and supplies of the highest quality, and technical support and service that are second to none. We believe this combination of technological capabilities and superior service creates values our customers can appreciate.

Value Through Technology

In screen-printing equipment, one size definitely does not fit all. So, at Lawson, we build prepress equipment, textile and graphics presses, and textile and graphics dryers that fit well in any size shop. Our presses range from manual to fully automatic to meet the required volume demands of every printer, and we manufacture a full line of I.R., U.V., jet-air, gas, and combo dryers. In addition, we provide digital-imaging equipment and a complete range of screen and digital supplies. In short, we stay abreast of technological advances in the industry to provide our customers with the most efficient solution to their printing challenge.

Value Through Technical Support
Lawson maintains a 24-hour screenprinting technical support hot line to answer your questions by phone, faxes or Internet. But our advice does not stop with phone or e-mail.

Value Through Service

Besides Lawson's headquarters in St. Louis, we also operate a Super Center in Atlanta, Georgia and sales offices in Birmingham, Alabama and Boston, Mass. From these strategic locations, we can deliver equipment, tools and supplies quickly, efficiently and economically throughout the U.S. Although we welcome phone, fax and e-mail communications from our customers, we also can make site visits to help make sure you are getting the most out of your Lawson purchase.
