    FEATURES
Adobe PostScript 3 — True Adobe® PostScript® 3™ offers reliability, increased performance, and the assurance of compatibility to work from virtually any software application and hardware environment.
High Speed Controller — Fast IDT 79RC32355 processor coupled with XANTÉ’s technology enables complex files to image incredibly fast.
X-ACT™ — Our patented Accurate Calibration Technology gives you precise control over horizontal and vertical dimensions on page images ensuring unmatched output accuracy.
Negative Enhanced Imaging Technology (NEIT) — Patented Negative Enhanced Imaging Technology is a revolutionary new technology allowing users to produce superior quality negatives ensuring clear, crisp hairline images and text without the risk of “plugging”.
Positive Film Technology — Provides density control which allows you to adjust the intensity of toner used for positive film output.
Halftone Calibration Technology — This technology permits you easily to adjust the gamma curve of halftones from the printer’s front panel. Users can calibrate midtones of halftone images to bring out lost detail from dark photos and to print at higher line screens.
Densitometer Support — Allows you to calibrate grayscales using a densitometer and Xanté’s Command Center application to receive the highest accuracy possible for halftone images.
Enhanced Screening — This feature allows you to further fine tune output quality by providing 40% more levels of gray when needed.
Mirror Print — Allows you to output a job from any application with the image reversed from left to right providing right reading, emulsion-side down output.
Negative Print — Provides the ability to output a negative image from any application regardless of job make-up.
Myriad Matte Film — Polyester-based Myriad film was developed specifically to create quality positives or negatives directly from the desktop.
Myriad Clear Film — We also presents the new Myriad Clear Film for positive printing.
Easy to Use Web Browser Interface — Enter the IP address of the printer in the address bar of your web browser to check the printer’s status, rename it, align paper, and much more.

(PFT) Positive Film Technology - Positive Film Technology (PFT) provides the ability to print high quality, fast turnaround film positives on our Myriad film directly from your desktop without the need for extra processing and chemistry. 1200 x 1200 dpi, Upgradeable to 2400 x 2400 dpi

We have taken high resolution one step further by introducing 2400 x 2400 dpi on our prepress and graphics products. Achieving resolution this high is important for service bureaus, commercial and in-plant printers, ad agencies, and others who work with camera-ready materials, film, or plates.

High-Speed Processor - Our high performance controller design features the IDT 79 RC 32355 166 MHz RISC processor. This processor, coupled with our technology, enables complex files to print incredibly fast.

    Extra Features
13 x 35.5 Printing - The oversized printing feature allows you to print custom size output up to 13" x 35.5" (330 mm x 901 mm) - great for posters, presentations, and even up to 4 full-bleed letter size documents on the same piece of paper. We also give you the flexibility to print full-bleed 11" x 17"/A3 documents on shorter page sizes such as 19" / 483 mm and 25" / 635 mm if desired. Also, this feature lets your creativity soar with a variety of media sizes in which to choose from.

Adobe® PostScript® 3™ - No need to worry about compatibility problems with our printers. The printers offer reliability, assurance of compatibility, and high performance provided by Adobe® PostScript® 3™ Printer. Adobe PostScript 3 takes the PostScript standard beyond a page description language into a fully optimized printing system that addresses the broad range of new requirements in today's increasingly complex and distributed printing environments.

Adobe PostScript 3 delivers targeted benefits to its users for whom printing the right document in the right way is critical. What was considered acceptable image quality yesterday is no longer acceptable today.

Enhanced Image Technology recognizes image objects and automatically optimizes processing to deliver the highest possible quality, and at the same time, reduce the return-to-application time -- the time it takes for users to regain control of their computers after printing. With new imaging features, including support for three-dimensional images, photo quality grayscaling, smooth gradients in graphics objects, and masking images, Adobe PostScript 3 fulfills the creative expression requirements of business professionals and graphic artists alike.

Customers like you are demanding higher quality output, but without performance compromise. With printing patterns changing from print and distribute to distribute and print, there is an even greater need for faster performance. With users responsible for printing more, longer, and increasingly complex documents, there is more network traffic. In addition, users need a quick return to application so they can continue working without being held hostage by the printer.

Adobe PostScript 3 examines every aspect of the printing process to gain maximum performance advantages. Adobe PostScript 3 performs an average of 27 percent faster on simple office documents and up to six times faster on complex graphics.

    Graphic Software Package
Xante Accurate Calibration Technology (X-ACT) -
X-ACTovercomes the limitation of horizontal and vertical dimensional accuracy common to all laser printers, giving you a new level of control over printed output.

Laser printing is an involved process that uses an assortment of finely tuned, moving parts. As a result, tolerance varies from one printer to another. For example, if a letter-sized image is printed on two different printers, the image from one printer may be 10.98 inches tall, while the image printed on the other printer might be 11.1 inches tall. The height of the image may vary from printer to printer.

The X-ACT feature provides an easy, convenient way to calibrate your printer and achieve precise control over horizontal and vertical dimensional accuracy, ensuring output of unmatched quality. Without X-ACT, tolerance on a printer can be as much as one percent (1%). That means a 12-inch (304 mm) image can be off by as much as .12 of an inch (3 mm) (almost 1/8 of an inch). When one printer enlarges an image and the next printer reduces it, this inconsistency is magnified. The difference between the sizes of the two images can be almost .25 inch (6 mm). Compare this value with the reduced tolerance of the X-ACT feature: over the same 12-inch area, X-ACT can provide accuracy to .02 inch (.5 mm) (1/64" = .015625). As you can see, this is a tremendous improvement in dimensional accuracy.

Halftone Calibration with Densitometer Support - Gamma, as it pertains to laser printers, is defined as the rate at which gray levels transition from white to black. In a perfect world, a gray level of 70% would appear to be equivalent to the eye regardless of media: paper, screen, monitor, etc.

The basic flaw requiring gamma correction is that the eye perceives different gray levels in a non-linear fashion. In other words, the eye will fool you. Another factor causing the need for gamma correction on a laser printer is that certain gray levels can vary among different model monitors due to differing phosphor white backgrounds. This can result in grayscales appearing differently on paper than on the monitor. Also, gamma correction may be needed to adjust for different 'whitenesses' of paper which can create incorrect gray tones as perceived by the eye.

When a laser printer is designed, it should default to a perfect gamma transition as read by a densitometer. However, the calibration of the printer does not guarantee that the gamma will match your particularprinting environment. Calibration of this gamma curve is often necessary to match the monitor with the paper. The gamma can be changed on our printer products through simple front panel selections. Any one of the six predetermined settings (programmed by our development engineers) can be chosen.

The finaloutput is the proof of perfect gamma correction.

How the human eye perceives the transition of grayscales from white to black has always been a problem in the printing industry. Giving the end user a means of easily correcting this problem is achieved with this important correction technology.

Enhanced Screening - Further fine tunes output quality by providing 40% more levels of gray. Printing at higher line screens can cause posterization. Enhanced screening adds more levels of gray.
