CDF Direct Film is adhered to mesh still wet from the
degreasing rinse. Water in the mesh absorbs and softens
the stencil film, which is attracted (by capillary action)
into the mesh. A single squeegee stroke skims
off excess water. Usually the stencil is dry enough to
expose within 20 minutes. Remove the clear polyester backing
sheet, attach your positive, expose and washout with plain
water. |

| Pulsar™
Indirect Film |
Ulano recommends new Pulsar
for all Indirect Film users and Lawson expects it to replace
all other Indirect products you are currently using.
PULSAR is a user friendly dual-cure indirect film system
that does not require chemicals or controlled temperature
washout. Pulsar stencils can be inspected off-mesh, eliminating
time-consuming on-mesh makeovers. Pulsar provides stencil
longevity that is superior to other transfer films, and
it has excellent solvent resistance to
a wide variety of solvents, but not designed for water-based
inks. The emulsion is coated onto 75µm (3 mil)
optically flat polyester having a special release layer
& top-coated for better storage and handling under humid
conditions.
Available in rolls or custom-cut sheets.

| Ulanolux® UP3 Indirect
Film |
A synthetic diazo-sensitized
emulsion on a 3-mil optically clear polyester backing.
Requires neither chemical developing or warm water washout.
Fast exposing. Excellent adhesion to polyester and all
other fabrics. Wide exposure latitude. Can be exposed,
washed out (in room temperature or cooler water) and dried
for later adhering. Not recommended for use with aggressive
solvent inks. Use only Ulano No. 4 Stencil Remover Liquid
or Ulano No. 5 Stencil Remover Paste to reclaim the screen.
Resolution: 100 - 125 microns (4 - 5 mils).

| Blue Poly-3® Indirect
Film |
Lawson and Ulano suggest
you consider modern synthetic indirect films like Ulanolux
and Pulsar. Blue Poly-3 is a tried
and true workhorse. It is a blue, medium thickness gelatin-based
film coated on a 3-mil optically flat polyester backing.
Same as Blue Poly-2, except for the thicker backing, which
means more dimensional stability and easier handling of
large stencils. Slightly less resolution than Blue Poly-2.
Resolution: 87 - 112 microns (3.5 - 4.5 mils).

| Rubylith® & Amberlith®
Knife Cut Masking Films |
Ulano Rubylith and Amberlith brand masking films are "light
safe" knife cut films coated onto a polyester backing
sheet. These films can be cut manually or on a plotter
to produce masks for film contacting and plate making
and film positives for photographic stencil production.
The backing sheet, or support, provides dimensional stability
to the film. Although masking film coated to 300 gauge
polyester is predominant, 500 gauge polyester is recommended
when the application requires tight registration or the
mask or positive is large format. |
Amberlith Masking
Film is easier to see through than red Rubylith,
particularly when several sheets of film are overlaid
to produce color separations. It is "safe" for use with
all screen printing stencils, but is not
"safe" for use with camera speed darkroom films.
Rubylith
Masking Film is a red masking film, suited
for use with camera speed darkroom films as well as all
screen printing stencils.
Low Tack "Quick
Stripping" film peels easily and is best for bold or
large designs.
High tack film is produces a tight bond between the
red film and the polyester backing which is best for
fine lines or details. |

| Sta-Sharp S3S Water Resistant |
 Ulano
Sta-Sharp S3S Film is a lacquer-based, water-resistant
knife-cut stencil film for making screens. It adheres
to the mesh with Sta-Sharp Adhering Liquid and is for
use with all inks except lacquer, vinyl and plastisol.
Knifecut films won't shrink or expand because of the backing
sheet and once adhered to the mesh it comes off quickly,
in one piece. Sta-Sharp S3S is a fast cutting, fast peeling,
green colored film on .003" polyester backing. S3S StaSharp
adheres fast, has excellent stick-back qualities for easy
corrections. Easy to see through and when you lay it down
and it stays flat for perfect contact.
