How To Sublimate FRP Plastics

Heat Press Settings

400°
Time:
45-50 seconds
Pressure:
Medium
Step 1
  • Prepare your artwork and transfer with consideration to the size and shape of the specific FRP product.
  • Don't for get to remove the protective plastic covering.


  • Step 2

  • Spread a teflon sheet (or white paper) on the bottom of the press.


  • Step 3

  • Using heat resistant tape, fasten the FRP item(s) in position facing the printed side of the transfer.
  • Lay the FRP face up (transfer, face-down) on the heat press.


  • Step 4

  • Press for 45-50 seconds with medium pressure.
  • Remove the plastic and transfer from the press.
  • Slowly peel the tape and transfer from the plastic.
  • Allow to cool on a clean surface.


  • Additional Notes
    If you are using 2 sided items, be sure to allow the plastic to cool to room temperature before pressing to the 2nd side.

    There are templates available to facilitate sublimation to the FRP plastic products. They are available to aid with the setting-up of the artwork in addition to placement of the multiple items on the press.
