All-steel construction and sturdy mechanical components make the Scout a great press for printing t-shirts. It's small and light enough for one person to move anywhere it's needed. Just clamp (or bolt down) on a sturdy table and you are ready to start using.
The main difference between the Scout and the Proton is the Scout press is not modular in design, and is only available in 1 and 4 colors, and with either a single or 4 print stations. The Scout uses dual nylon registration bolts instead of dual bearings. Buy the Scout if you want to save money and save space.
